Matt Rosaaen K-12 Principal
My name is Matt Rosaaen! What an exciting time to be a Spring Grove Lion! I am extremely grateful to be the next Principal at Spring Grove. I look forward to creating meaningful and authentic learning opportunities for ALL students. There is an incredible tradition of excellence within this school and we want to help continue to push that excellence forward. Our mission Inspiring Learners To Meet Challenges With Confidence. I see all students having the ability to grow, succeed and meet challenges in and out of the school setting and look forward to working in collaboration with community organizations as well! It takes everyone to make this happen at a high level. As the new principal, I am excited for the positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community. It is my goal to give each student real world and authentic learning opportunities in an effort to help them be college and/or career ready. I hope to ensure a passion for education and continuing to have students committed to excellence in school and in the community. It continues to be evident by the support and turnout at events how important the school relationship is to the community. My goal is to continue to strengthen the solid bond the people of Spring Grove have with the school. An overarching philosophy of mine is to continue creating effective, productive citizens. Together, we can achieve this goal and I encourage you to stop in and visit the school if you have questions or ideas on how to help us promote this idea. I have been in education for 19 years. I attended St. Mary's University in Winona where I received my K-6 Elementary Education degree with a 5-8 Middle School Mathematics Licensure. I taught at Kasson-Mantorville Public Schools for eleven years, teaching First Grade and 8th Grade Mathematics, I also coached Volleyball and Basketball. While teaching in Kasson, I earned my K-12 Master's in Education degree from Winona State University. I later taught 2nd grade, and 6th grade and coached at Spring Grove Public Schools as well. I received my Educational Leadership/Principal Licensure in May of 2019 from Minnesota State University Mankato. Most recently I have been the 5-12 Principal at Grand Meadow Public Schools for the past 6 years and also the Head Volleyball Coach. I grew up on a small beef cattle and sheep farm North of Spring Grove in Blackhammer. My family consists of two sisters: Kelly(Brady) Bergey, Madelyn(12), and Braxton(9) who live in Stewartville; Teri(Luke) Vatland, Trevor(8), Tucker(5), and Lexi(2) who live in Mabel, but attend school in Spring Grove. My mom and dad (Marianne and Paul) still live in Spring Grove, so I am able to help farm when able, which is where you will find me if not at school!! I enjoy spending as much time with family as possible. I am a huge MN sports fan and enjoy all things outdoors, especially enjoy spending time in Hayward, WI. I currently hold a Superintendent's License as well. Because I love school so much, I am also working towards my MBA in Leadership and Management and will graduate in December. I look forward to being back home and working with all the students, staff, and community of Spring Grove. |
