Human Physiology and Anatomy
Grade: 11 & 12 - Elective Prerequisite: Biology 1 Semester (2 Credits) - This course is a great elective for anyone interested in going into any area of the health or medical field (e.g. nurse, doctor, physician’s assistant, dietician, physical therapist, physical therapist assistant, occupational therapist, dentist, optometrist, veterinarian, sports medicine, coach, trainer, etc.), but is also good for anyone who would like to learn more about how their body works. The course involves lab work, lecture, activities, discussion and projects. Areas studied are biochemistry of the body, cells, tissues, bones, muscles, nerves and the brain, and an overview of the other systems of the body.
