Hello Fifth Graders and Parents!! My name is Mrs. Kelsey Morken. I am entering my tenth year of teaching and my second year at Spring Grove Public School.  I am so excited to be back teaching in my hometown!  Before coming back home, I was at Mabel Canton Elementary for eight years in fourth grade, first grade, and kindergarten.  I am very excited to teach your child and watch them grow and explore. The Middle Ages are a very important time for children and I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with each and everyone of our students.

After finishing high school in Spring Grove, I headed to Southwestern Community College in Creston, IA and graduated with my Associate of Arts Degree.  I finished my undergrad at Minnesota State University, Mankato with a degree in Elementary Education and a specialty in middle school math.  In efforts to continue my lifelong learning goals, I completed my Master's of Education in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary's University of Winona in May of 2015.

My husband Tim, son Bernt (6), and daughter Kallyn (4) live on a farm north of Spring Grove.  Tim is a busy farmer raising crops, beef cattle and turkeys at Morken Farms, LLC.  When I am not in the classroom, I love to spend time running, in the gym coaching and watching sporting events. In our free time we love to go for gator rides in the pasture, work with our horse Ruby and hang out with our friends and family.

Come to our classroom and visit anytime. We love visitors!
